Domestic Violence

.Domestic violence encompasses emotional abuse, financial abuse, psychological abuse, and physical abuse.  Under North Carolina criminal law, domestic violence means committing one or more abusive acts on a person with whom the defendant has a personal relationship. The signs of abuse may not always be easy to recognize, but they are rooted in the abuser establishing power and control over another person.  At CELO, we want you to know you do not have to navigate domestic violence alone.  Our attorneys help domestic abuse survivors in Harnett, Lee, and Cumberland Counties in NC to navigate the legal system and establish independence from their abuser.

Attempting to cause bodily injury or intentionally cause bodily injury is the definition of physical abuse in North Carolina.

Emotional Abuse

Financial Abuse
